This is NOT a spider monster. It is "Maman", located at the Roppongi Hills Tokyo.
Maman (1999)[1] is a sculpture by the artist Louise Bourgeois. The sculpture, which resembles a spider, is over 30ft high, with a sac containing marble eggs. Besides the stainless steel version on long-term loan to the Tate Modern, London, there are several bronze casts, located at:

I think there is one of these spiders at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark too. Maybe it's a different artist.

Dramatic view and good eye. WAY better than the photos I took of it a couple of months ago. Roppongi's Maman is hard to shoot because the plaza where it is located is so crowded. The others I've seen, in Kansas City and London, are in more spacious surroundings.
I live in Vancouver but I'm in Ottawa today. This sculpture is also outside the entrance to Canada's National Gallery. I walked past it less than two hours ago.
